Ideas and plans forward
There are few different directions I wanted to address here.
1. One was for app/website that was suppose to show easy visualization for acupuncture points and meridians. That was scrapped, but will explain why, great potential there if someone has the time to spend here can be very beneficial for the community I think.
2. Another is we started ordering some good Five Arts books from a new store in my country that allows easier access to books in other languages. The plan is to start posting reviews, maybe in another blog, will see. Will try to be objective for the material, but in general the idea is only books that I like, if I don't like them will just not mention them, so we keep a positive vibe overall. : )
3.The final thing, is about 8 mansions. In the webs there are the advanced techniques of it, Specifically here:
https://xkfs.art/2023/05/22/full-spectrum-8-mansion-including-scoring-method/
(to be fair one may still need the heavenly star Feng Shui tutorials from YK Zhong in Facebook, to get the Na Jia combinations a little, although its mentioned in the link above as well, its nicer to see them fully there)
Lets start with that.
I have made some nice visualizations on that, as I think for many may be very challenging to get the calculations working just from the presented info... And yet that may not be a bad thing, many courses out there, so people could benefit from that instead... So I'm not sure if I should post it as a calculator or not.
So should we add that and is it a good idea to post it I wonder... Open to thoughts in here or in facebook, as practice shown that posting email in the open is invitation for a lot of stuff we would want to miss, instead.
Back to the other stuff.
2. Through time in the forums also outside of them we have been through a lot of books, with that gone some reviews can be helpful for a people starting to find their way in the Five Arts I think. So may make another blog for that or start here, will see how it goes. May do some of the books we have looked at before in the forums, before going to the new stuff. : )
1. That was about the meridians and the anatomy projects. This is very interesting direction. The reason we decided not to do an app is because... Well, the initial plan was to use something online with reasonably accuracy and just to provide some nice interactions for people that want to know more about specific meridians and points related to them, be that from martial arts, TCM or other fields. One of the reason we decided not to, is because there is a very impressive anatomy open source software now here:
https://github.com/Z-Anatomy/The-blend/
Long story there, we have followed that project for a few years, but lets just say having meridians and points added to this. seems so much better then using what we had in mind, that any idea of making some crappier model just for that was abandoned. Yet the process itself is very available and easy, can use Blender, open source software and 20-30 minutes tutorial with it should be enough for most people to see how to set points and meridians. So then TCM practitioner doing it makes much more sense, while we may have the software knowledge, the practical TCM one is not something we should proceed without at this point I think.
However, the fact we may not do it, doesn't mean people shouldn't. As we stepped away to open space for people with more experience in TCM, since the 3D knowledge is, indeed, very easy to get even for beginner in Blender. So that is the summary here - awesome free open source anatomy library available now, its just sad to not have meridians/acupuncture points with it and we(bright hall team) shouldn't be the ones to set it, someone that knows and practice TCM should. Then all practitioners can use open source access to that knowledge together with the most(in my view) impressive anatomy software as well, all open source in their Blender(and that is, of course also open source and free). The .exe app is on Unity, I don't know that very well, while the fbx for Unreal Engine do seem to import, but not sure if it will be very easy to use them there. Blender templates seem the most awesome option, in my humble view, as all is ready, just could use more layers on top. If we do magnetic fields or sacret geometry stuff related to the body someday, we would probably use same software(there are reasons I really like this specific project, but long to go there).
Thats it I think. If someone has opinion on should we post the 24 mountains and 8 mansions calculator, feel free to post on a comment here on in facebook. Book reviews possibly coming in the future and if someone wants to add TCM layer on the anatomy app, we can help with some guidance with blender, although all should also be just doable by tutorials in the net, its really easy to work with and available to people on many OS as well(one of the reasons that is on Blender I guess)
I'm not as much into 5 arts stuff right now but if you would also review other metaphysic/spirituality books, would be cool :)
